This is awesome. Great advice.

Most of us feel our way through our careers and end up in a couple of bad situations. Then we look at the shining career examples and think, "Wow, I must suck because I'm not like that." No, rather, you're normal.

Nice to see some legitimate, honest advice. I’m sure there is a little bias in here but it seems objective at heart. Thank you for sharing.

I am in a struggling company...

The most successful period of the company was 2010-2013, money came and go like they were just papers, at least that's what I heard.

I just the company last year (2019), right at the point the big ship started to sink. 2/3 employees were dismissed since the day I joined. I accidently joined the company just because the pay was higher than my last job.

I guess I didn't do enough examination on my direct manager as well, too many politics are going on in the company, and everything is a zero-sum game now, and sometimes that make me can't focus on my job.

Those people look successful in the company, are mainly because of the luck. And they never think they are lucky, like they did everything right and the result comes.

I don't know how much longer I will stay in this company, I know I will eventually will, but I haven't made up my mind.

But thank you for sharing your suggestions, I think I really need to think about it...

What about the option of starting your own company? High risk no doubt, but also unbounded upside..

What? Where's the advice? You pretty kuch summed up what I already have done. I need for the hamster wheel to end. I am very unhappy with the pickings out there and have no money to return to school and wouldn't know what I'd do if I did, because everything sucks because of people.
